Everyone gets stuck in a rut at some point in their lives. It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.Do you feel like something is holding you back from moving forward in life, but you don't know what it is? Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them. The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don't define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable. The starting point of all achievement is desire. Perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding the 20th. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game-winning shot, and missed. I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I didn’t get there by wishing for it or hoping for it, but by working for it. I’d rather regret the things I’ve done than regret the things I haven’t done. Success can be seen in how well you respond to failure and how quickly you dust yourself off and commit to doing better the next day.Ĭonfucius said, “Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.” Seek Inspiration Keep taking steps every day.Īlbert Einstein said, “Failure is success in progress.” The key is not to let failure completely derail you from achieving your bigger goal. You’re going to have days where nothing goes right. Commit it all to memory and use these sensations to stay motivated to keep moving forward to achieve your goals. See colors, sense your energy level, happiness, and demeanor.įeel it. Imagine every aspect of your day with your goal achieved. ![]() Picture yourself with the new job, relationship, or body. Visualization can be a very powerful tool. You may have inherited a goal to be a lawyer or hairdresser because everyone in your family was one before you, but is that what you really want? Make sure that your goal is in fact yours and not someone else’s for you. Taking a deeper dive into your goal can also lead to a realization that the goal is really a family hand-me-down. That, in turn, may reframe what you really want in your life. Or maybe you find that using your talents in a volunteer organization fulfills the need you have, or at least keeps you satisfied until you find a new job.įueling your passion goes a long way in changing your energy and how you feel. It could be in a new job, but it could also be in a new area in your current position that you take the initiative to develop. If so, look for all the ways you might use them. What is it you don’t like about your job? Are your passions and talents not being utilized? Instead of saying how much you hate your job and need a new one, take a step back.
